End of season with the Brienz Rothornbahn
On Sunday, 25 October 2026, we’ll be performing on our alphorns at the Brienz Rothornbahn’s end-of-season event.
We’ll accompany this special day with music, playing our alphorns at various locations:
🎺 Valley station – opening and welcome🏔️ Rothorn Mountain Restaurant – alphorn music high above Lake Brienz🎺 Valley station – closing performance and end of the day
Join us for a memorable end to the season, with panoramic mountain views, railway nostalgia and traditional alphorn music.
We’re delighted to accompany this special day with music alongside the Brienz Rothornbahn and delight you with our alphorns.

On Saturday, November 14, 2026, we’ll be guests at Brennerei Wirz in Reigoldswil, accompanying the event “Die Schweiz brennt” with our alphorns.
Join us for a cosy event steeped in tradition, where Swiss distilling and musical heritage come together. Our alphorn music will set the perfect mood.

Visit to the Basel Christmas Market by the Münster
Alphorn music at the Basel Christmas Market
This year, the Magden Alphorn Group is heading to Basel again during the Advent season! 🎄
We’ll play our alphorns at the Christmas Market by Basel Minster, filling the air with traditional music and a festive, pre-Christmas atmosphere. From around 6 pm, a group of about ten alphorn players will be there, ready to enchant visitors with our melodies.
But it’s not just our music that makes this visit special: we also love soaking up the unique Christmas spirit at the Basel Christmas Market. The grand Christmas tree adorned with festive decorations, the twinkling stars and the tempting aroma of mulled wine warm our hearts and get us in the mood for the most wonderful time of the year. ✨
And after our performance, there’ll be time to relax and enjoy some good company. As is now tradition for us, we’ll round off the evening with a delicious fondue at Fondue-Stübli Wacker.
We look forward to bringing a touch of Christmas magic to Basel with the sound of our alphorns, enjoying the special atmosphere together and making many lovely memories.

Maypole Festival in Sissach
The Alphorngruppe Magden at the Maypole Festival in Sissach 🌿🎶
We’ll be there again on 3 May!
When the maypole is raised in Sissach, local traditions, traditional music and good company are all part of the occasion. This year, the Alphorngruppe Magden is once again delighted to take part alongside the traditional costume group and add to the celebrations with music.
The maypole is an age-old custom observed in many regions. Decorated with ribbons and greenery, it symbolises spring, nature awakening and new life. It also represents community and solidarity. Raising the maypole and celebrating together brings people together and keeps traditions alive.
With the sound of our alphorns, we hope to add a special, distinctly Swiss touch to the Maypole Festival. Alongside the colourful traditional costumes and performances by the traditional costume group, it will create a wonderful blend of music, customs and Swiss tradition.
We’re delighted to be part of the Maypole Festival in Sissach again this year, catch up with familiar faces and enjoy a relaxed, cheerful spring day together with visitors.

Magden Alphorn Group at the 2027 yodel festival
The next big Yodelling Festival will take place in Château-d’Oex from 2 to 4 July 2027.
The Alphorngruppe Magden will also be part of this special event. Alongside yodellers, flag throwers and alphorn players from across Switzerland, we’re looking forward to an unforgettable celebration of Swiss folk culture.
We look forward to three festive days filled with music, tradition and good company in Château-d’Oex!

Swiss National Day – August 1
Celebrate Swiss National Day to the sound of the alphorn 🇨🇭
On 1 August, the Alphorngruppe Magden will be performing around the region, helping celebrate Swiss National Day with several performances.
With our alphorns, we bring traditional Swiss sounds to the people and hope to share a sense of home, tradition and togetherness. We’re delighted to create special moments with our music and add to the festive atmosphere on Swiss National Day.

🇺🇸 Anniversary celebration in New Glarus, Wisconsin (provisional)

The Alphorngruppe Magden is travelling to New Glarus, Wisconsin (USA), to represent Swiss musical tradition at the grand anniversary celebration.
During the three-day festival, we’ll give several performances on our alphorns and celebrate the close ties between Switzerland and New Glarus together with Swiss clubs and other guests.
🎺 We’re looking forward to a truly special musical experience in the “Swiss Colony” of New Glarus!
